If your garage door company serves Peachtree Corners, you are working the city's renovation wave: homes built in an era when the garage sat quietly to the side, whose owners are now making that side of the house a feature. Carriage Door Creations handcrafts custom wood carriage doors to order in our Lawrenceville shop and supplies garage door companies across the Southeast. Custom carriage doors, built for your company. Call 678-926-3404 to set up supply.
Gwinnett's newest city has an older housing stock than its name suggests: mostly 1970s–1990s subdivisions under mature trees, from Amberfield and Wellington Park to the riverfront homes near the Chattahoochee, with The Forum, Peachtree Corners Town Center, and Technology Park giving the city its commercial center along Peachtree Pkwy (GA-141). These are substantial brick traditional and transitional homes, and they are being renovated to a high standard. When your customer has redone the kitchen, the landscaping, and the front entry, a builder-grade garage door becomes the one dated surface left — and real wood is how dealers are finishing that job.
Wood That Raises a Traditional Home, Not Just Replaces a Door
On a brick traditional in Wellington Park or a riverfront home above the Chattahoochee, the garage door is large enough to set the tone for the whole elevation. Hardwood does that in a way a finished panel cannot:
- White Oak pairs naturally with brick and stone — a strong, handsome grain that holds a deep stain and suits the formal fronts common along Peachtree Corners Circle and Holcomb Bridge Rd.
- Mahogany brings a richer, more refined finish, often chosen where the front door and shutters already carry dark wood tones.
- Clear Cedar lightens a shaded, tree-covered lot, giving a classic carriage face that brightens an elevation the canopy keeps in shadow.
- Knotty Pine suits the more relaxed riverfront and wooded properties, where a formal door would feel out of place.
Designs are drawn for the individual house — framed carriage layouts, crossbucks, window configurations from a simple top row to divided lites that echo the home's own windows — and your customer reviews CAD drawings of the design through you before we build, so species, layout, and hardware are settled on paper first.
How the Door Is Constructed
Each of our wood doors is a real hardwood overlay handcrafted over a 2" thick foam-insulated steel-back panel. The hardwood face delivers the authentic wood appearance of a traditional carriage door; the insulated steel-back construction underneath provides stability and insulation, so the door behaves like a modern door while it looks like a carriage house original. That construction is a practical advantage in Peachtree Corners, where many garages sit under bedrooms or serve as workshops and workout space — an insulated door makes that space noticeably more usable through a Georgia summer.
Doors are built to order for the exact opening, in single and double sizes as well as custom and oversized openings. If real wood is more door than your customer's project calls for, our single overlay carriage doors deliver carriage detailing with a lower-maintenance face, on the same insulated construction from the same shop — a second line your company can offer from one supplier.
